After much discussion and lots of running around in circles we eventually found the road out of the date farm to Pella, the road was known as Oom Charlie’s se pat and was more like a goat track through the mountains with exceptional scenery and very tricky roads for the Landy.
This road is a must see. After a vey fleeting visit to Pele and the towns wane be bugermeester who wanted 18 R for information we headed to Pofadder. Here the electioneering was in full progress when will they ever learn. With harry and Greg getting some biltong from the local Butchery, stocked up on some road supplies, From Poffader we headed out on a very straight and
boring road to Loeriesfontain If you can avoid this road try it’s long and dead straight.
Eventually we arrived at Loeriesfontain and checked into the Loeriesfontain Hotel for the night (a through back from the 70`s here we got bed and breakfast fro R150.00 all relaxed and had some down time Not the navigator Ken went and had a bath to wash his dusty and smelly body a used up all the water so the rest of us had to shower with cold water .thanks Ken
That night we had some drinks in the bar at the hotel with the very charismatic bar man that refused point blank to serve tap water as a drink in his bar so the navigator had to find something else to drink, in Loeriesfontain Black Sambuka is a good mild port according to the bar man and the disgust of the navigator. Fair dinner in the hotel and then all went off to bed,
