HonderKlip to Eksteen fontain

Well after a fantastic breakfast at honderclip the intrepid travellers and the Landy left the tented camp and headed for the haul road to Koenaas mine where we were informed by the lady at security that there were only 70 inhabitants of the mine however it would possibly reopening under new management, from there we headed down the Diamond route a very fine tar road to Kleinsee this once thriving town is now extremely quite , this could have been because it was Sunday , from there we headed the 95 km to port Neolith this was a eye opener with wrecked diamond mining  ships stranded on the beach, here we filled up at the engine garage by a very gay petrol attendant who kept looking at Antony in a strange way.
We then proceeded to harbour where we had a very tasty lunch served to us by the landy crew,
After lunch we moved of heading out of town for approximately 15 km till the turn off to Eksteenfontien, here the navigator led us up a very suspect back road howeverthe nature of this route soon became apparent Ant had  found a signs board reading Richtersfeld nature reserves that we were sure he had organised by some of the locals to place by the road as we travelled past, here NTNK`s bike rack came loose and the landy crew had to come to the rescue,

We then moved off for about another 4o km to Eksteen fontain, we were met at the little B&B Kom RUS n Bietjie that is very well organised with the main house sleeping six guest and having 2 sleeper couches , unfortunately as in all small towns in this area you have to deal with the local population that want to be your mate especially if they see you have some beers, but this is a small price to pay for a great trip so far , no mechanical problems and the bikes have all kept both there weels on the ground. A good Braai tonight and we move on tomorrow. Picks Tomorrow
